By taking/teaching my classes, doing PT twice a week and staying consistent, my recovery has been flying by. I am completely amazed at how the body heals. Blood flow, nutrients, hydration and mobility - it all has an impact on your body’s ability to recover. Not just after a major surgery, but even after a tough workout out or event. A lot of people dedicate time to training, but not to recovering.

Today marks three weeks post op. If I look too much to others and compare myself to other people’s recovery I can get discouraged or maybe cocky. But what I have to realize that this is MY journey and I need to do what I need to do, when I need to do it. I have a lot of support from all different directions and look forward to the next few weeks of making progress. There is no doubt that I will have to be reigned in at some point from feeling so good, but that is why I have a physical therapist that knows where I was and where I want to be.
With anticipation and nerves building up days to a race, there are many things to think about. The week before a big race can be crucial depending on length of race and intensity, training, nutrition, hydration and rest are all very important. I am going to keep this very basic and easy to understand.
Run a Spartan race? Pffsssshh! Run two maybe even three in a weekend? In Hawaii? Sure! Why not??
For those that caught me on Steve Austin's Broken Skull Ranch, you know that I beat seven other girls and was able to make it all the way to the end... literally the end!
